My hair right now is a dark, dark blonde / light brown color. I want to lighten it to more of a medium blonde. I don't want to use a permanent dye so I'm looking for a semi-permanent one. But i've heard you can't lighten your hair with a semi-permanent one for some reason? if you can help me out let me know! Thank you! :)

    1. It can’t lighten it, so far as I know. It is because it doesn’t contain ammonia or peroxide, which is usually used in permanent hairdye. Semipermanent color washes out over a period of time, so if you don’t like the color you don’t have to live with it for too long. If you want a more dramatic change (two or more shades darker or lighter than your natural hair color), a permanent color is a better option.Permanent hair color contains a blend of peroxide and ammonia and removes pigment from hair while also depositing new color.
